Communication & Connection Reset

A couples intensive for the same fight, on repeat.

From the outside, your relationship looks fine — maybe even good. You've built a good life together. You show up for each other in the ways that count. But underneath, there's a pattern you can both feel and neither of you can quite name: the same misunderstanding, the same shutdown, the same conversation that starts about dishes and ends up somewhere much older.

Weekly sessions can help you understand and strengthen your relationship over an extended period of time. An intensive is built to help you dig in and get results efficiently.

You might be here because...

Your relationship isn’t in a crisis. But you're both a little worn down by a communication loop that keeps showing up no matter how many times you've talked it through.

One of you shuts down. The other pursues. Or you both go quiet, and the distance sits there until something small sets it off again. You've read the books. You've had the conversations at midnight that don't go anywhere. You love each other — and you're stuck on how to actually reach each other when it matters most.

If any of this sounds familiar, this intensive was built for you.

What we work on together

This is concentrated, focused time that's hard to find in a 50-minute weekly session, especially when life, work, and kids are in the mix.

Together, we'll:

  • Map the specific cycle you get stuck in; what triggers it, what each of you is actually protecting when it starts

  • Slow down the pattern enough to zoom out and see it clearly, instead of just living inside it

  • Build a shared language for conflict that works for both of your styles, not a generic script

  • Practice repair in real time, in the room, with support

  • Leave with a concrete plan for what to do the next time the old pattern shows up

This isn't about assigning blame or deciding who's "right." It's about understanding the dance you're both already in, so you can start choosing different steps.

Why an intensive instead of weekly sessions

Most of my couples in couples therapy have 50 minute sessions twice a month. And over time, couples do see results and real changes that bring them closer together.

But sometimes it can feel like just enough time to get started before you have to go back to your regular lives and feel stuck, waiting for next Tuesday.

An intensive gives you something weekly sessions can't: uninterrupted momentum. There's no re-warming up for twenty minutes before you get back to where you left off. No losing the thread between sessions while daily life pulls you back into old habits. You go in, you stay in it, and you come out the other side with clarity and a plan you’ve built together.

For couples especially, this matters. Patterns that took years to form don't always unravel in fifty-minute increments. Devoted time lets you get underneath the surface, feel what it's like to do something different in the moment it usually takes over, and leave with language and agreements you actually practiced together, not just talked about. Imagine being able to do 6+ months of work in 3 hours.

This is the right choice if you're both motivated to do focused work now, rather than spread the same work across months. It's not a replacement for ongoing support if that's what you need afterward but it's a way to make real progress in a single, dedicated day.

What to Expect

The full process is five hours total: a pre-intensive call, the 3-hour intensive itself, and a follow-up session a few weeks later.

This is relationship-strengthening work, not crisis intervention — you don't need to be at a breaking point to do this well. You just need to be ready to look at the pattern together.
